Created with hand-dyed cotton and acrylic yarn\, Diedrick Brackens’s richly layered textiles depict intimate scenes of figures in lush landscapes\, reflecting on queer presence\, desire\, and belonging. Organized by guest curator Eungie Joo\, the exhibition also debuts new works centered on ideas of home\, rest\, and care. \nConjuring Power: Roots & Futures of Queer & Trans Movements | March 13–Aug. 23\, 2026\nYBCA’s Conjuring Power is a multimedia exhibition celebrating the resilience\, creativity\, and cultural legacy of Bay Area queer and trans communities. Featuring murals\, archival photography\, and contemporary video work\, the show brings together artists including Ester Hernández and Serge Gay Jr. alongside materials from the GLBT Historical Society\, tracing a powerful continuum of community\, resistance\, and imagination across generations.
