Overview

O’Keeffe and Moore is a SPECTACULAR exhibition featuring over 100 works from Georgia O’Keeffe and sculptor, Henry Moore. This is a definite MUST SEE SHOW FOR O’KEEFFE AND MOORE LOVERS.

I’ve seen works by both artists multiple times over the years (saw their works grouped together at Honolulu Museum of Art back in May), but I was completely blown away by the intensity and strength (O’Keeffe’s dreamy, voluptuous color palettes and Moore’s curious handling of the 3-D world) of the pieces selected for the show, which include reproductions of the artists’ studios.

It’s always exciting when I walk through an exhibition and each successive gallery presents me with something wonderful. Definitely travel-worthy as the photos in this case, really don’t do the works justice. Runs through Aug 27, 2023.

⭐ MUSEUM HOURS: CLOSED WEDNESDAY. Open Monday–Tuesday and Thursday–Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday 12 p.m.–5 p.m. 
⭐ ADMISSION: General Admission Adults $20; Seniors 65+ $15; Military $10; Students $8; Ages 17 & Under FREE. Membership starts at $75.
⭐ DISCOUNTS: Admission is FREE through the following programs: Third Tuesdays for San Diego residents (show ID); Discover and Go (Free w/library card—may not apply to all counties); Museums for All (show your EBT or Medi-Cal card/ID);  Museums On Us (show your Bank of America/Merrill card/ID) on FIRST weekend of month. Blue Star (May 20–Sept 4, 2023: Free for military personnel and up to 5 family members with ID). *Additional fees apply for special exhibitions. Tickets available at the museum’s welcome desk. The sculpture garden is ALWAYS FREE.
⭐ FOOD: Panama 66 is a FANTASTIC museum eatery (great drinks) bordering the sculpture garden. Open Monday–Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; Wednesday 4 p.m.–10 p.m.; and Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Dog-friendly.
