Overview
Root Division is a non-profit arts organization located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. In addition to hosting exhibitions, workshops, classes, and events, the org provides FREE OPEN STUDIO SPACE to 20+ artists.
They are currently preparing for their ANNUAL ART AUCTION, which will take place THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24 from 6:00-10:00 p.m.
This year’s auction features 190+ WORKS by an impressive roster of artists (you can check out these works on their website), including quite a few who have exhibited in museums:
David Huffman (see his new work at SFMOMA, Portals, so cool btw, and the show Fan Art: Bay Area Sports, which he curated, which are part of SFMOMA’s new sports-centric show, Get in the Game, opening Sat.); Michael Arcega (see his window mural When We Weave Waves at YBCA, also very cool); and Rodney Ewing, Hung Liu, Masako Miki, Trina Michelle Robinson.
Tickets start at $100 and can be purchased on Root Division’s website HERE.
Their events are a BLAST, and a wonderful way to support this vital institution in the San Francisco arts community.
