Art Market San Francisco is the city’s longest running art fair, which takes place annually at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. This year’s fair featured 85 galleries from around the world and kicked off with it’s opening party on Thursday night, followed by 3 additional days of viewing and purchasing art.
Admission
Tickets to the event are available at 2 levels. Admission to the opening party + 3-day pass is $65 and a DAILY pass is $35.
Programming
Art Market’s projects and events include presentations, talks, demonstrations, and performances given by a variety of art professionals, and are FREE to attend with admission.
I immensely enjoyed the projects this year. TNT Traysikel by Michael Arcega and Paolo Asuncion is a traysikel (a small motorized vehicle with a passenger cab attached to it commonly driven in the Philippines) with a karaoke system. I originally saw the TNT Traysikel when it was part of the Carlos Villa: Worlds In Collision show at the Asian Art Museum last year, which was an EXCELLENT show, but to see it in LIVE KARAOKE action was phenomenal!
IN/VERSE, located in the entryway of the exhibition hall, by Sasha Styles/Technelegy, a language artist incorporating AI into her work, seemed especially relevant with the advent and recent attention surrounding artificial intelligence and ChatGPT.

Vendors
An assortment of art-inspired merch is featured in the Open Editions pop-up shop, whose brick and mortar is located in San Francisco’s Mission District
Food and drink vendors this year included El Huarache Loco (terrific tacos and salads from the Larkspur Landing restaurant) and Grand Lake Cocktails (crafted cocktails from Oakland’s Grand Lake Kitchen, another local eatery I enjoy). Seating is upstairs (also includes a bar) towards the rear of the exhibition hall, near the El Huarache Loco stand.
Nearby Food & Drink at Fort Mason
Fort Mason also has some great dining and drink options that are just a few steps from the Art Market exhibition hall including:
