Overview
Here’s a peek at the de Young Museum’s de Young Open, which is a juried exhibition featuring 883 WORKS selected amongst 7766 artists’ submissions (ages 18–86) from the 9 Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
The exhibition’s juried panel includes 4 Bay Area artists: Clare Rojas, Stephanie Syjuco, Sunny A. Smith, and Xiaoze Xie and 8 curators from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco: Timothy Anglin Burgard (originator of the exhibition), Emma Acker, Natasha Becker, Claudia Schmuckli, Laura Camerlengo; Christina Hellmich, Janna Keegan, and Hillary Olcott.
This triennial event is a fantastic opportunity for Bay Area artists to gain a wider audience and to sell their works directly to the buyer (artists receive 100% of the proceeds).
